1. Nonprofit Technology Conference
March 4-6, 2015, Austin, TX
With a wide array of offerings ranging from content management systems to actual tech training for staff members, the fifteenth year of NTC offers valuable resources for nonprofit managers and staff alike. Hosted by the Nonprofit Technology Network (N10), this is a can’t-miss weekend for those who want to sharpen their tech prowess.
2. International Fundraising Conference
March 29-31, 2015, Baltimore, MD
Beyond the obvious benefit of boasting Whoopi Goldberg as a speaker (!), the International Fundraising Conference discusses topics like how to engage young donors, the benefits of monthly giving, and capital campaigns. The event, sponsored by AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) attracts nonprofit movers and shakers from across the world.
3. Conference on Diverse Philanthropy and Leadership
April 23-24, 2015, Atlanta, GA
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) co-sponsors this conference with African-American Development Officers (AADO). This year will cover emerging segments of the population in philanthropy such as LBGT donors, as well as discuss strategies for attracting a wider range of donors to your nonprofit.
4. AICPA Not-for-Profit Industry Conference
June 15-17, 2015, National Harbour, MD
Sponsored by the American Institute for CPA’s, this weekend is geared toward bringing financial experts and nonprofit leaders together to discuss the challenges facing the not-for-profit world. Topics will include regulatory and compliance issues, accounting and auditing, and governance.
5. 2015 Nonprofit Marketing Conference
July 13-15, 2015, Washington D.C.
With a focus on storytelling and creating connections in marketing, this year’s conference aims to make a nonprofit’s mission personal to donors across generations. You can apply to submit a proposal about your organization’s marketing success through February 6.
6. Inbound 2015
September 8-11, 2015, Boston, MA
Spend a fall weekend on the waterfront in Boston with this splashy conference that focuses on passion and innovative in leadership. Though not specifically geared toward nonprofits, exciting speakers and a plethora of breakout and training sessions might make it worth your staff’s while.
7. Dreamforce ‘15
September 15-18, 2015, San Francisco, CA
Chock-full of perks (All-new keynote speakers! Over 1,400 speakers! A special guest rock band!), this massive conference also brings the goods in terms of value for your dollar. Hosted by Salesforce, the weekend offers trainings and certifications on-site, as well as speakers and sessions specifically geared toward the nonprofit world. If you can’t make it all the way out to California, you can also stream sections of the conference from anywhere.
8. The Communications Network Annual Conference
September 30-October 2, 2015, San Diego, CA
Over 450 nonprofit and foundation professionals from around the country are expected to attend the event this year, with a continued focus on strategic communications for social change. Go for the networking, stay for the great speakers and intriguing breakout sessions.
9. 2015 Independent Sector National Conference
October 27-29, 2015, Miami, FL
This weekend event brings together leaders in nonprofits, the philanthropic community, and the arts to foster a creative and unique conference experience. Expect to hear from a wide range of staff and board members from across the nonprofit world. Highly recommended for networking opportunities, the special breakout programs, and a strong focus on current issues facing the community.
10. BoardSource Leadership Forum
November 9-10, 2015, New Orleans, LA
This is the big one – the largest annual meeting of nonprofit professionals in the US, with over 800 attendees from across the country. Anyone from board members to staff to consultants are encouraged to attend and exchange ideas and strategies for success in the nonprofit world. Plus – New Orleans!
